Improve Male Fertility with our Comprehensive Workup and Treatment Plan

Have you received an abnormal semen analysis? That result may come as a shock, but it is much more common than you might think. When couples are having difficulty getting pregnant, over 50% of the time there is a sperm or male factor involved. Male infertility can be caused by an array of factors, and the majority of abnormal semen analyses can be improved or corrected with the right guidance, support, and medical treatment. If you want to improve your chances of conceiving a healthy child, our Male Fertility Workup is the roadmap that you’ve been looking for.

What Is Our Male Fertility Workup?

The Male Fertility Workup provides a comprehensive and personalized approach to evaluating your reproductive health and a detailed action plan to improve it. In Denver, your male fertility plan will be comprised of three separate steps:

  1. An initial evaluation
  2. A physical exam or ultrasound
  3. And a treatment plan

Your Initial Male Fertility Evaluation

We’ll kick off your workup with an Initial Evaluation, where the male fertility specialist will do an in-depth review of your semen analysis results. You will also complete a comprehensive intake questionnaire that is hyper focused on you, your background, and your health, as well as a variety of things that most people don’t realize could affect your sperm and your fertility.

These questions will examine many things including your complete medical history, your reproductive history, your partner’s history, and more. Then during your telehealth appointment, we will review this information and conduct an in-depth assessment of your semen analysis to better understand the results in the context of your personal health and history. All this information will help us identify any initial contributing factors to your abnormal semen analysis, which may include:

  • Lifestyle and behavioral habits
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Medication side effects
  • Genetic conditions
  • Medical conditions
  • Previous surgeries

Depending on the contributing factors identified, your male fertility specialist will determine if and what additional diagnostic testing may be necessary. Either way, we will provide you with an initial male fertility treatment plan which will evolve if you have additional diagnostics. The initial evaluation can be completed either in-person or virtually.

Your Male Fertility Physical Exam or Ultrasound

We will continue your Workup and follow up our findings with a quick in-person physical exam. Our male fertility specialists will schedule a 5-minute physical with you to “check underneath the hood.” This exam is easy, non-invasive, and solely focused on identifying any physical traits or anatomical reasons that may contribute to your abnormal semen analysis in Denver.

Alternatively, you can complete a Scrotal Ultrasound rather than an in-person physical exam. Your male fertility specialist can order this to be done at a local imaging facility.

Your Male Fertility Treatment Plan

If additional diagnostic tests are needed, you’ll have another meeting (either in-person or virtually) with one of our doctors for a detailed review of your diagnostic results. We will provide accurate interpretations of the lab’s results, finalize your list of contributing factors, and revisit your male fertility treatment plan.

We always encourage both partners to attend these meetings to keep you two equally informed and on the same page. This can help us integrate your treatment plan into any other fertility treatments that your partner is going through. It also saves you from having to remember everything discussed and report back to your partner.

By the end of your Male Fertility Workup, you’ll have a clear path forward to help you and your partner achieve a healthy pregnancy.
