Increasing Access to Care for Male Fertility in Oregon
“Expanding into Oregon helps us continue to drive our mission to bring equity to fertility by providing access to specialized male fertility care to all couples trying to conceive,” said Pam Pure, CEO and co-founder of Posterity Health. “Our goal is to make it easy for males in the Portland area to receive expert care. This will unite the couple early in their conception journey so everyone can find their best path to pregnancy.”
For instance, Posterity Health can support male fertility in Oregon through our Baseline Assessment, for males who want to evaluate their fertility status, and our Male Fertility Workup, for those who have received an abnormal semen analysis. In addition, Posterity Health offers various men’s health services that focus on reproductive health. These include services like vasectomies, vasectomy reversals, varicocele repairs, testosterone therapies, hormone management treatments, and second opinions for any male fertility concerns or needs.
Our new office in Oregon will be led by Dr. Puneet Masson and our co-founder and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Barrett Cowan. “We are extremely pleased to welcome Dr. Puneet Masson to the Posterity Health team,” said Dr. Barrett Cowan.
Dr. Masson is a skilled reproductive urologist who holds an MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and has received comprehensive training in his area of expertise through his fellowship training and education. He finished a six-year urology residency program at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical College and then went on to complete an Andrology and Male Fertility fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
“My enthusiasm for personalizing the fertility experience for male patients and their partners is what drew me to Posterity Health,” said Dr. Masson. “I’m excited to join a team that delivers on and shares my passion for helping people build a family.”
Dr. Masson emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive evaluation of the male patient and collaborates closely with both partners to assist in their family-building process. More recently, Dr. Masson has served as the Director of Male Fertility at Penn Medicine and played an important role in establishing the Penn Fertility Care program. Dr. Masson has delivered numerous presentations on the clinical benefits of an integrated fertility clinic at national meetings of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the American Urological Association (AUA).
Posterity Health incorporates innovative technology in our processes to improve the patient experience. At our Male Fertility Center of Excellence, we provide male patients and their partners with access to our Digital Health Platform, which is specifically designed to aid males throughout the conception journey and improve male factor infertility. Our health platform is designed to facilitate communication with males, provide detailed education on their role in the conception process, and thoroughly explain common male fertility diagnoses and treatments.
Dr. Cowan explains, “Male factor infertility impacts over 50% of couples who are having trouble conceiving. It’s more common than people think and it’s often treatable once identified. The addition of Dr. Masson allows us to help more couples and reinforces our commitment to provide the expertise required to help each couple determine their best path to pregnancy.”
